Pastor, elder, and biblical counselor, writing to help Christians understand God’s Word and live it out more faithfully.
I have served the Church in several ways throughout my life: teacher, youth minister, janitor, pastor, elder, deacon, and biblical counselor. Today I still actively serve our Lord’s church as an elder and biblical counselor. My wife, Sharon, and I also have the privilege of walking alongside engaged couples through pre-marital counseling.
My three main loves in life are:
- My Lord, Jesus Christ
- My wife and family
- God’s holy Church
Why I Write
For years, my work has centered on teaching Scripture, counseling, and walking alongside others as they seek to live faithfully before the Lord. In that work, I’ve seen something again and again: sound doctrine is not meant to stay in the mind, it is meant to shape the heart and guide everyday life.
That conviction now shapes my writing. I write to make biblical truth clear, accessible, and lived. Written for believers who want to understand Scripture more deeply without needing a theology degree to do it. Whether through teaching or storytelling, my goal is the same: to help Christians understand God’s Word and live it out more faithfully.
Why Stories
Christ Himself used story to explain gospel principles. He called them parables. The Bible itself is another example, filled with true-life stories intended to teach us of God’s love and His expectations for our lives. Adam and Eve. Abraham. Noah and the flood. They all carry vital truth about who God is and who we are.
Stories have a way of reaching places that explanation alone sometimes cannot. They allow us to see truth lived out: through struggle, through growth, and through the quiet work of God in ordinary people.
The Brave Squire is my attempt to do the same for young readers. It is a story about courage: not the absence of fear, but the willingness to do what is right in spite of it. It reflects a truth I have seen in Scripture and in life: God often works through those who feel the least capable.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

I live in Tennessee with my wife, Sharon. Together, we continue to serve the Lord, seeking to encourage others to grow in Christ through truth, faithfulness, and steady obedience.
